Your adventure stays on your device. Optional purchases are verified with Google Play. The game has no advertising or game account.
1. Publisher and scope
This policy describes how information is handled in Westink: The Lost Quill (French title: Westink : La Plume perdue), a game by Maxime Lussier, set in the Atlas de Travers universe, in Québec, Canada.
Android application: com.atlasdetravers.westink.
2. Information on your device
The game stores your progress, unlocked levels, achievements, language and selected appearance locally. This information lets you resume your adventure and keep your preferences. Your progress is not sent to the purchase verification server. The game does not provide a game account or cloud saves.
Verified purchase entitlements are also stored on your device. Validation allows offline access for up to seven days; a subsequent check may require an Internet connection.
3. Purchases and verification
Optional purchases are processed by Google Play. When verifying or restoring a purchase, the app sends the product identifier and a Google Play purchase token to the publisher’s server. The server asks Google to confirm the purchase before granting access to the corresponding content.
These communications are encrypted using HTTPS. The server does not store purchase tokens in a database, and its code does not write them to logs. The publisher does not receive your payment card numbers.
Google handles information needed for payments, service operation and security under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy.
4. Hosting and technical information
The verification server is hosted on Google Cloud Run in the Montréal region. Google Cloud logs are stored in buckets configured in the “global” location, so their storage is not restricted to Canada. During a connection, the infrastructure may process technical information such as the IP address, date and time, requested address and request result. This information supports service operation, troubleshooting and security.
The game has no advertising or audience analytics tool. It does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera or precise location. The publisher does not sell your information or use it for targeted advertising.
Google Play and Google Cloud support distribution, purchases and purchase verification. Some Google processing may take place outside Québec or Canada, depending on the services involved.
5. Retention and deletion
- Progress and preferences: these remain on your device until deleted. You can remove them in Android settings under Apps → Westink → Storage → Clear data. Uninstalling the app also removes local data.
- Local purchase entitlements: these are valid for seven days after verification. Expired entries may remain in local storage until replaced or deleted, but no longer grant valid access.
- Tokens received by the server: these are processed to verify the purchase, without being stored in a game database.
- Technical logs: the configured retention period for logs stored in the Google Cloud _Default bucket is 30 days.
- Google Cloud audit logs: required administrative and system-event logs stored in the _Required bucket are retained for 400 days, as mandated by Google Cloud.
- Support emails: these are retained as needed to handle and follow up on your request and to meet applicable legal obligations. You can request their deletion using the contact address below.
- Google Play history: deleting the game does not delete purchases or information held by Google. Eligible purchases can be restored using the same Google Play account; restoration does not recover game progress.
6. Requests and choices
You can play without making an in-app purchase. Purchases and restoration require an Internet connection and Google Play. Parents can manage purchase approvals through their Google account settings.
To request access to, correction or deletion of information held by the publisher, or to ask about this policy, use the contact below. Deletion may be limited where retention is necessary to meet a legal obligation. Requests about Google account data should be sent to Google.
